10 month update

I'm only a LITTLE late this month. YAY me.  Tyler is now 10 months and 3 days old. 10 month seems so much older, i think b/c we finally hit double digits. AHHHHHHH!!  His birthday party is just 2 months from today and i've only started to think about it.  He has become a complete maniac here lately, climbing on everything, taking a few steps here and there, and pretty much getting into everything he's not supposed to. Just 3 minutes ago he pushed his metal bucket that he uses for a drum over to our ottoman, climbed up on the bucket and then onto the ottoman to get my phone. IDK where he gets these ideas.

So at 10 months old Tyler:

• weighs about 17.5 lbs
• eats primarily table food
• climbs on anything and everything
• loves to screech and scream
• is finally sleeping in the pack n play but not all night
• loves to monster growl
• takes up to 5 steps at a time
• drinks only out of a sippy cup or straw
• loves music, especially guitars and drums
• has 5 teeth!

So i guess that's about it for now.  I can't believe how big my boy is getting.

there are two of them...

teeth that is!!!  On August 2nd tyler got his first top tooth, then out of nowhere a week later his second one came through.   He's looking so cute (and weird) now.  He gives me that crazy gremlin smile...haha totally matches his wild man personality.

I've started the rather overwhelming task of planning his first birthday. I know its still 2 months away but i want to get invites out in a month or so...so i have to get the details started at least. I'm a busy mama after all.  Next week Tyler's cousin Hudson starts coming over everyday for Aunt Katie's daycare! LOL  Can't wait to see how much the boys love each other in a few more weeks.  And its back to school for Delaney. 

I had the pleasure of taking pics of my friend Holly's new baby boy yesterday. Made me miss sweet little newborn snuggles...not that tyler was ever a snuggler, but i guess i miss him sleeping more than anything. Have i mentioned i'm tired?! lol

We're expecting...

another tooth any day now!! Haha, did I fool you?! LOL

Tyler has his top right tooth about to break through. I've been watching it for a week or so now and its finally breaking through.  I'm hoping any day now it comes through. These have been easier than the bottom teeth so far, which kinda surprised me.  He's been not sleeping real well, but he hasn't been crabby really, just tired.  Except yesterday but we'll blame that on daddy...just because we can.

Tyler's becoming a fan of the grocery cart, but what choice does he have.  We go shopping a lot. :)

We had Delaney's 6th birthday party this weekend.  He enjoyed eating pizza and cake (hey he's skinny, he can afford to eat what he wants...so says his dr). haha  But ever the mama's boy, he didn't want to be too far from me. After the party we went to the mall and dinner with Grampy, Nana and Braydon.  Tyler got to eat peach cobbler for the first time and he loved it!! Hopefully it won't be long now before we start fattening this kid up.  He weighed in at just 17lb 6oz at the dr on Friday so he said he'd like to see him gain a bit more weight in the next few months and to just try and fit him a bit more since he's so active, so we'll be finding ways to sneak a few more calories in this crazy beast.  And speaking of crazy beast I'll finish up with this photo of the maniac himself.

Yes he is scaling the baby gate.  He was furious because we put him in there and didn't come with...oh boy he's fun sometimes.

9 months old

I love how i start every post with what a slacker I am...and this month is no exception.  I am so far behind on editing sessions you'd think i've been busy or something.  The fact is i've been sorta busy, sorta lazy and a lot preoccupied with my very emotional baby.  He ONLY wants mommy but we're working on changing that. I've escaped to another room leaving him with B every night this week.  And guess what...the little turkey lays down and goes to sleep for him! UGH.  It's a work in progress.

So what's new with Tyler?
Well he's now saying mama and hi all of the time and he waves, which is adorable. I swear i've heard him say da, bay bay and love you. He thinks NO is really funny.  He's now eating three full meals a day.  He loves pretty much all food, though he makes some not so nice faces when i try to feed him peaches and strawberries.  LOL! He also much prefers feeding himself to me feeding him, you'd think he was independent or something.

He's been spending a lot of time behind the walls of the "baby jail".  We bought one of those giant baby gates because we were tired of chasing him all over the house and so far its awesome.  It keeps him in and the dogs out, win win!! He loves his foam sword and axe, anything musical and things he can bang on (including smashing a battery into my shin today).  He loves to make noise and talk to himself.  He's a skinny boy with long legs, wearing size 3 diapers and still in 6-9 month clothes.  He weighed 17.8 lbs and was about 28.75" long.  We haven't gone to the Dr yet for the officials yet so will update on the 29th after we do that. He got his bottom 2 teeth while we were on vacation last month and i see the first top tooth peeking through now!

Not much else happening right now. He's standing on his own some, and tries to take steps but usually crashes immediately...he scales things quickly though and is getting braver and braver. Oh joy!  He loves straws and plastic bottles too...so any drink is fair game in his mind.  He's such a wild little man and we love him to pieces!!

8 month stats

Tyler weighed 17.5 lbs and was 28.25" long on Sunday according to mommy's measurements! lol  He's getting so big and strong and wants to RUN so bad.  Now if he could just try sleeping once in a while. He sleeps okay with me, but i'm over getting kicked and hit all night and be is tired of getting booted out of bed.

That's about all of the excitement we have going on.  I have to take advantage of my down time now that he's into everything! LOL, this kid wears me out!

We took him to his first Rangers game on Monday night. He had a good time for the first half of the game but then he was ready to go home!  He looked so cute in his Rangers gear and wanted to sit in a seat like a big boy by himself.  He's so funny!!

Tyler's been quite the traveler in his 8 short months of life! He's been to Arkansas to see his great grandparents, he went to Oklahoma City to see my best friend Katie get married and then he got to go to Florida last weekend for our friends Katie and Sean's wedding, which B and I both got to be a part of!  Early Thursday morning (like 3am early) B, Maggie, Mom and I headed east to Pensacola...Gulf Breeze to be exact.  We managed to get there in about 12 hours which was awesome considering some less than timely stops and a poop exlosion from the kiddo. But leaving early was great because he slept for a good chunk of the trip and overall was an angel until about an hour before we got there. Unfortunately it was during this hour that B missed a highway exit and got all pissy...and well i was less than happy after that overload of male fury.  We checked into Margaritaville which is on the beach, absolutely gorgeous and I HIGHLY recommend it. They had a beautiful pool, great beach location, and most importantly, everyone there was SOOOOO nice. So if you go to Pensacola, definitely check it out. We had to get ready for the rehearsal dinner immediately so we changed and left Tyler with grammy and aunt maggie.  We had a fun night and Tyler was more than happy to see us when we got back. 
Friday was the wedding...so we got up and went to the beach for a while. Tyler wasn't a huge fan of the water but apparently he liked the sound. Then we went to the pool for a little while before we had to go get ready. Around one I went to get ready with the girls and B was supposed to meet up with the guys at 2:30.  My mom got volunteered by me to help send people down the aisle, so she and maggie showed up around 5.  Just enough time for me to feed tyler and get ready to go.  At 5:30 the wedding started. It was gorgeous, Katie was just beautiful and it was just amazing.  The highlight of the evening was when there was a miscommunication and no one brought down Sean's ring, so they were actually married with B's ring! LOL  Quick thinking from that guy.  After the wedding we took lots of pics with the wonderful Ben and Stefanie and then we partied! It was a really fantastic evening. 

Saturday we were heading out and decided to hit the beach one last time.  Maggie, Mom and I went to the ocean but we only had an hour.  We got a quick dip and headed back in...we loved it so much I think Mom planned our family vacation there for next year the whole way home.  Gorgeous.  Tyler was awesome pretty much the whole way home as well. There were a few more poop explosions and a near death by lightening strike experience but overall it was pretty pleasant. It took much longer to get home and by the time we got there we were wiped out! It was short but wonderful and we can't wait to go back!!

a little early...

Tyler won't be 8 months until Sunday which is also his daddy's first father's day. We have lots of plans for the weekend so i figured i'd do a couple of short updates while i'm thinking about.  Tyler has been a crab and a half lately, not sleeping well, not taking naps, major separation anxiety...he's like a pregnant woman...happy and smiling one second, screaming and crying the next.  Then it dawned on me, the kid has had a lot going on lately.  He's cut his two bottom teeth in the last week, and then out of nowhere he starts talking (mama is his first word!!)  and he let go of the activity table yesterday and stood on his own. Hard to believe he could be walking this time next month!  That's a lot for a little person, no wonder he's so crabby! Still, i'd like my nice calm baby back whenever he's ready to reappear.

Today we went swimming at Mimi's with Delaney and Hudson and he had lots of fun.  It's already insanely hot here and i can see this summer isn't gonna be much fun.  His new favorite snack is cheerios, which he had a lot of today!  I think only half of what i give him ends up in his mouth though...thats the only time i'm glad we have two dogs, they do love to clean up after him.

We have exciting plans for the weekend, including Daddy's father's day surprise! :)  We'll be celebrating Father's Day and Grampy's birthday with the Hills on Saturday and then going to mimi and mark's on Sunday!  We'll do Father's day with the Krenek's next weekend.

Oh and i totally forgot to post about florida but i'll do that in a separate post!  Will update later in the weekend on his stats!!
